5 new albums and 3 videos… what?!?
looks like the killer buds have been busy. there are 5 new albums, including three newly signed bands; heavy petting is responsible for the other two releases. the newcomers are jer (the cat), kasiopeia, and puppy street. this post is necessarily a long one, so don’t stop scrolling too early.
first, a video.
an ambitious project that translates the visual aesthetic of beloved movies into the sound of a thousand keyboards traveling through the vast nothingness of outer space from the four corners of the universe.

the (now extinct) american lion was, by all accounts, the smartest cat in the history of the earth. but jer the cat makes original music. and he’s not extinct. so who’s the smartest (but laziest) cat now?

the wait is finally over. a number of bootleg copies of puppy street songs have been circulating for some time without any way of knowing if it was really puppy street or just an imposter. with their first release they set the record straight.

allibaster (one of heavy petting’s alter egos) is responsible for this new album. it does not disappoint!

the other album of heavy petting is a companion album to dark victory. if you haven’t listened to dark victory yet, download them both!

pythons beach photo contest mixtape
i heard that spring is here or at least on the way. but remember the beach photo contest? well, the pythons beach photo mixtapes are now in the hands of the winners. personalized mixtapes featuring hand-made paper crafts; the same ones in this promotional video:
to avoid any possibly related suicides, zap gun, pythons friend and confidant, created non-personalized, down-loadable podcasts of the beach photo mixtapes.
side A .m4a
side B .m4a
if your media player or hand-held device won’t play this file, try downloading the mp3 version (which, unfortunately, comes with no chapter breaks and less pythons related pictures.)
side A .mp3
side B .mp3
(note: we worried possible related suicides could occur after seeing the pythons beach photo contest mixtape promotional video which could then create an overwhelming desire to hear the mixtape and realizing you never sent in a beach photo.)

we’re petrified! update
nope, this update isn’t about any new we’re petrified! shows.
the update is that those lazy-ass killer-buds finally gave me enough files to put together a decent version of the “we’re petrified!” tab. i guess i’m one of the buds now too, but i’m talking about the ones who do the music and the videos and the artwork and stuff. “who are you then?” you might be wondering. the answer is that i am francis p. rutherford III, the new webmaster for killerbuds.net. i go by frankie if you ever email me or if you see me around town. so maybe you remember when the killerbuds.net website looked terrible. well, that was before i took over the webpage duties. now the page looks way better. i’m still making some improvements and trying to sort through all the archival stuff the buds have given me, so there will be new stuff up from time to time. keep your expectations tempered since they don’t pay me for my time.
anyways, the “we’re petrified!” tab is cool now. there’s footage from 3 of their concerts last year as well as concert posters. i’m sorting through pictures of the band’s live shows to put up later. for now though, go to the “we’re petrified!” tab and click on the shows in the left bar to see some footage from those shows. footage like the one just above.

i might be dying
this is heavy petting’s new album (3rd solo album this year). “it’s like i’m breaking up with my brain and it’s only 20 minutes long.”
20 minutes seems to be the standard length for heavy petting albums. “i just think it’s a good length for an album, that’s all.”
